The moment it appeared, we knew it would become a Ballard classic. Lower in profile than most beds, the Louisa Bed is handcrafted from solid maple and poplar with stained bun feet and padded, fully upholstered head and footboards. Extra wide side rails hide the box spring so there's no need for a bed skirt. California King not available. Mattress not included.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
This product was not what I thought it would be.

I have this bed from Ballard in queen-size. I loved it so much I ordered another one when I purchased a king-size mattress. For some reason the footboard on the king is about 12-15 inches shorter than the queen-size. So my king mattress is much higher than the rolled footboard. It doesn't look great, however I'm stuck with it. I just don't know why the footboard would be so much shorter on the king-size bed. On the plus side, the fabric is great (ivory pintuck) and it arrived much sooner than was promised.
